Guy Oliver, Director of Oliver Laws Ltd., has worked on a broad range of projects, from luxury yachts to aeroplanes, palaces, private members clubs, embassies, leading hotels, modern apartments and listed English Country Houses. The many strengths of the firm combine to offer a comprehensive service where all elements of design and construction are addressed. This includes detailing architecture, interior architecture, and interior decoration, as well as related services and technology.

Guy began his work with Turquoise Mountain by designing Turquoise Mountain Arts’ first large-scale woodwork commission. The owners of The Maybourne Hotel Group commissioned Guy to oversee the complete restoration and refurbishment of The Connaught Hotel in London’s Mayfair. Guy encouraged his client to commission Turquoise Mountain to create a special room inspired by the interior of The Peacock House in Kabul’s old city. This building was one of the first to be restored in Turquoise Mountain’s urban regeneration project in the historic old city area of Murad Khane.

Guy contributed to the restoration and refurbishment of Claridge’s hotel as well as The Connaught Hotel in London. His unique style combines an unusual level of creativity backed by a solid understanding and knowledge of diverse periods and techniques. The company has completed projects throughout the United Kingdom and North America, as well as Continental Europe, Russia, Africa, the Middle and Far East. Guy was recently featured in ‘The Genuine Article’, a Fine Living Network / HGTV series about the highest quality products and services available to discerning buyers. The show included Guy Oliver amongst the likes of Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Dom Perignon, Frette, Ferretti Yachts, Gucci, Harry Winston, Leica, Meisson, Orient Express, Patek Phillipe, Riva, Rolex, Rolls Royce, Steinway and Sons and Harry Winston. His work (and the work of the company) has been published in Architectural Digest, House and Garden and The Times newspaper, amongst others. He has also written for Country Life Magazine and lectured on design at Sotheby’s, The Courtauld Institute and The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, The Inchbald and The KLC School of Design.

In addition to his commercial and residential work, Guy has worked closely with several charities including Turquoise Mountain, Start (two of The Prince’s Charities), AtoZ Trust and the UK Pattern Archive.
